Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 5, 2026
This policy explains how Klipzo Team (“Klipzo”, “we”) handles data on klipzo.app. The short version: your photos and videos never leave your device, and we collect no personal accounts. We do use advertising and anonymous analytics on our website pages, which is what this policy mostly covers.
1. Your media is never uploaded
Klipzo is a client-side application. Every photo and video you open is processed entirely in your browser on your own device. We do not upload, receive, transmit, store, or have any access to your media files, their contents, their file names, or any thumbnails or data derived from them. There is no server that receives your files. See How it works for the technical detail and how to verify this.
1a. On-device AI features (captions, background removal)
Some features use AI models — for example, automatic captions transcribe your video’s speech. These models run entirely in your browser. The model files are downloaded once from a public model host (and then cached by your browser), but your media — including your audio — is never uploaded. Only the model comes to your device; your files never leave it.
2. No accounts, no personal profiles
There is no sign-up, login, or user database. We do not ask for your name, email, or any personal identifier to use the editor, and we do not build a profile of you.
3. Anonymous usage analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 (via Google Tag Manager) to understand, in aggregate, which tools are used and whether features work — for example, that an “export completed” event occurred. These events are anonymous and contain no media-derived data. We never send file names, file contents, thumbnails, or anything extracted from your files to analytics. Analytics runs only after you consent where consent is required (see section 6).
4. Advertising
Our guide and landing pages display ads through Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve and measure ads. Depending on your consent and region, these may include personalized or non-personalized advertising. Google’s use of advertising cookies is described in Google’s advertising policies. We do not place ads inside the editing canvas, and ads never receive your media.
5. Cookies & local storage
- Consent & preferences — small local storage entries remember your cookie choices and theme. These are essential and stay on your device.
- On-device scratch (OPFS/IndexedDB) — used to hold your working project locally during a session. Never uploaded; clearable via “Clear session”; wiped on tab close.
- Analytics & advertising cookies — set by Google only after consent where required, for the purposes above.
6. Consent (GDPR / UK GDPR)
For visitors in the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland, advertising and analytics cookies are set to denied by default and only enabled if you agree via our consent banner, using a Google-certified consent management platform and Google Consent Mode v2. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time from the “Cookie choices” control.
7. Your rights
Because we don’t collect your media or hold user accounts, we have very little data about you. To the extent applicable data protection law (including the GDPR and the California Consumer Privacy Act) gives you rights over data processed for ads/analytics, you may:
- Withdraw or change consent for advertising and analytics cookies at any time.
- Request information about, or deletion of, any data associated with you.
- Opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information as defined by the CCPA.
For ad-related data held by Google, you can also use Google’s My Ad Center.
8. Children
Klipzo is a general-audience tool and is not directed at children under 13 (or the applicable age in your region). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
9. Changes
We may update this policy as the product or legal requirements change. Material changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date above.
